Whatagraph and Easy Call Tracker
Google Analytics has pages and pages of technological
partners that it works with to ensure website owners have everything they need
at their fingertips. These partners range from applications that help better
organize your data in fancy dashboards, to call trackers that have the ability
to know exactly where each incoming call is coming from! (We’ll get more into
depth with this application a little later). For this particular blog post, I
will touch on two solutions that I found extremely unique and would personally
be interested in using if I had my own website.
Social media plays a key roll in driving traffic to
businesses of all kinds. With Google Analytics, business professionals have the
ability to see just how much traffic is being generated from each and every one
of those social media platforms. According to Whatagraph, “An average business
uses at least seven different digital marketing channels in order to reach new
customers and grow.” Wouldn’t it be nice to have all your website and social media
data streamlined in a very organized fashion?
Well, welcome to the world of Whatagraph!
Whatagraph is a marketing performance reporting platform
that automatically converts your website and social media data into an
understandable and easily digestible report. (Whatagraph, 2018) You may be
thinking, “Well, Google Analytics already gives me the ability to set up goals
for my data and I can track the amount of traffic coming through via the filters
I set up.” Which, yes, is true. However, Whatagraph takes the hassle out of
having to juggle all of that data and puts it into a very simplified format for
its users to quickly analyze and generate reports. With Whatagraph installed in
your Google Analytics account, you can generate reports such as the one below
with a click of a finger. This can be extremely valuable when prepping for
marketing meetings to elaborate on how your web and social media platforms are
helping (or in some cases, hindering) drive traffic to your website.
For embedded YouTube videos, for example, you can generate a
report instantly that illustrates information such as impression rates, cost
per conversion, views by video length, new followers and engagement rates.
Additionally, information on how much those rates have increased (or decreased)
since your last pulled report will also be included. Lastly, each report will
include detailed charts and graphs to serve as a visualization tool. If that doesn’t sound good enough, Whatagraph
also gives users the ability to create their own graphs and charts with
customized data widgets. But don’t worry, all of the graphics (and any other digital
widgets needed) will be available, all you need to do is insert your own
insight and customized information. (Whatagraph, 2018)
This platform also allows you to share these reports with
anyone you want with the click of a “share” button. Additionally, you can even
add your own comments on any desired reports to help your team (and clients, if
applicable) better understand what each part of the data means. (Whatagraph)
As previously mentioned, the biggest advantage I see from
using this platform is the ease of it and the amount of time it can save
business professionals. With digital media platforms being such a huge part of
success in websites, using a platform like Whatagraph essentially leaves little
to no room for error. It’s convenient and easy for anyone to use, and makes
miscommunication a thing of the past. This would be extremely beneficial to
consulting and marketing agencies, or really anyone who is building reports for
clients and team members regarding their web and social media efforts. In short
term, this platform collects your data, generates the reports, allows you to
make your comments, and quickly review then send to your desired audience. How
simple is that!?
I personally work with a very small marketing team now with my current company, and let me tell you, this platform really resonates with me. Trying to establish the importance of our marketing efforts can be extremely difficult when the rest of your company doesn’t have a background in (or even interested in) the field of marketing. Needless to say, I would LOVE to use Whatagraph, and think it has the ability to bridge the gap in communication that currently exists. It would give me the ability to explain just how each and every one of our social media platforms are helping grow the success of our website and in return, help us generate new customers.
One other platform I want to quickly touch on is called Easy
Call Tracker. This platform is also a Google Analytic Technology Partner that is
currently the only call tracking system that tracks both domestic and
international phone calls AND reports revenue derived from those phone calls
directly in Google Analytics. (Easy Call Tracker, 2018)
When I initially researched this platform, I’m not going to
lie, I thought it was only going to be beneficial for telemarketers or
businesses with e-commerce websites that survive off of customer service phone
lines. I’m happy to report that I couldn’t have been more wrong! Easy Call
Tracker works with any marketing campaign(s) of your choice with the connection
of keywords. Being someone who is extremely fascinated with the use of Google
AdWords and keywords in general, this platform really stood out to me.
Essentially, Easy Call Tracker assigns a phone number to each marketing
campaign and connects specific keywords within that campaign to a certain phone
number. The phone number that is being called will allow business professionals
to know exactly which outlet their customer used to find them. In order to
avoid having a million different phone numbers, Easy Call Tracker does the work
for you and forwards all of these calls to one existing line your company uses.
(Easy Call Tracker)
I know what you’re all thinking, because I initially had the
same thought, too. “This platform sounds
a little too tricky for me to use.” I’m happy to also report that this
assumption is ALSO incorrect. All you
have to do in order to use this platform is install the Easy Call Tracker
JavaScript on your website and simply track the data from your telephone calls.
Like Google Analytics demographic features, this platform allows you to see exactly
where each sales call is originated from in a very neat and streamlined report.
From a marketing standpoint, Easy Call Tracker would be an
excellent tool to use if your company has a variety of marketing campaigns
being rolled out at once. For example, if advertising a new product on social
media outlets, radio stations AND newspapers, it may be a little hard to keep
track of each number being advertised on each outlet, let alone trying to
decipherer where in the world each of those viewers actually resides!
